At just thirteen years old, Wigs For Kids recipient Rylee is already making an incredible impact on stage, in her community, and in the lives of other children experiencing hair loss. Recently crowned Jr Teen Canada United World 2026, Rylee is using her voice to inspire confidence, acceptance, and self-love in others, all while continuing her own journey with alopecia.

Rylee has been living with Alopecia Areata for the past four years in a journey that, like for many children facing hair loss, began with uncertainty. At first, she was hesitant to talk about her experience. But over time, and with the support of her family and Wigs For Kids, she found the confidence to step into the spotlight.
Today, Rylee embraces life fully. From school to sports to pageantry, she refuses to let hair loss define her. Instead, she chooses to define herself — by her strength, her passions, and her kindness.
“Hair loss doesn’t define who I am. It’s just one small part of my story,” Rylee shares.

Rylee’s journey has been shaped by the things she loves most. She enjoys art as a way to express her creativity, finds joy in spending time with friends, and stays active through volleyball, swimming, badminton, and lifeguard training.
Pageantry has also played a major role in her confidence. Beginning locally in 2024, she quickly rose to national recognition, first earning the title of Jr Miss Galaxy Canada and now capturing her second national crown as Jr Teen Canada United World 2026. Along the way, she has earned accolades including the Miss Congeniality award, reflecting not only her poise but her genuine kindness.

Rylee credits these experiences with helping her embrace her authentic self and step confidently into who she is becoming.
Beyond titles and crowns, Rylee is deeply committed to advocacy. She created her platform, AA-mazing Kids, to raise awareness about alopecia and to support other children facing unique challenges.
Through social media and community engagement, she encourages kids to celebrate what makes them different and to know they are never alone.
“I encourage other kids to embrace their authentic selves. It means a lot to me to be able to inspire others,” Rylee says.
Her message is simple but powerful: authenticity is something to be proud of.
Throughout her journey, Wigs For Kids has been a meaningful source of support for Rylee and her family. She applied for her first hairpiece in 2022, has received three so far, and is awaiting her fourth. Each one has helped her navigate life on her own terms, and always at no cost to her family.
Her mother shared how impactful that support has been:
“Wigs For Kids has given our child the confidence to be herself, pursue her dreams, and shine without limits. Without her wigs, I worry she may have withdrawn from her activities. Even though it took her time to begin speaking openly about her experience, her wig allowed her to continue living life as usual while she processed everything at her own pace. We are deeply grateful for the confidence and normalcy Wigs For Kids has provided throughout her journey.”
Having access to a free-of-charge, high-quality hairpiece allowed Rylee to continue participating in the activities she loves while building confidence at her own pace. It provided not just a sense of normalcy, but the freedom to grow, explore, and eventually advocate for others.
For Rylee, a hairpiece represents more than appearance.
“A hairpiece means confidence, self-expression, and feeling like the best version of myself. It’s not about changing who I am, it’s about celebrating it,” she explains.

With her new national title, Rylee is preparing to represent Canada on an international stage this summer in Texas. As she continues her journey, she remains focused on expanding her advocacy and inspiring even more young people to embrace who they are.
Whether she’s competing, creating content for AA-mazing Kids, or simply spending time laughing with friends, Rylee is proving that confidence comes from within — and that every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
Rylee’s family offers heartfelt advice to others beginning their hair loss journey:
“Meet your child where they are in their journey. Allow them to process things in their own time, with the right support, and trust that they will flourish when they are ready.”
Because of fundraisers, hair donors, volunteer stylists, and community advocates, kids and teens like Rylee receive more than a hairpiece — they receive confidence, dignity, and hope.
At Wigs For Kids, stories like Rylee’s remind us why we do what we do. With the right support, every child can discover their strength, embrace their individuality, and shine.

Stories like Rylee’s are only possible because of a community that believes no child should face hair loss alone.
