About Wigs For Kids
Wigs For Kids is a private charity organization, meaning the federal government does not fund us. We are a Section 501 (c)(3) non-profit serving children.
Our hair replacement systems are designed to conceal complete hair loss or minimal hair growth due to medical reasons, including therapy treatments (e.g., chemotherapy or radiation) and damage to the scalp caused by burns, scarring, alopecia, or trichotillomania.
If your child suffers from partial hair loss, an evaluation will help us determine if our full cap solution can meet their needs. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to the Program Administration at recipients@wigsforkids.org.
Does Wigs For Kids Charge a Price for Its Wigs?
No, we do not charge for hair replacement systems. The process for creating hairpieces made from human hair takes time, and the cost for producing one wig through the Wigs For Kids Recipient Program is $1,800. Thanks in large part to donors, we provide our hairpieces free of charge to eligible recipients because we believe every child deserves the ability to look themself and live their life.
