Wigs for Kids is headquartered in Westlake, OH. We have a small staff working behind the scenes on a daily basis to meet the needs of the children we serve. We don’t have satellite offices as many other national non-profits; therefore, we rely on you to help spread the word about Wigs for Kids in your community and to serve hair donors, and recipients.
Stylists partner with Wigs for Kids in two ways- Certified Service Providers and/or Hair Donation Specialists. As a Certified Service Provider stylists work with the recipients to measure for the cap, color-match, style and provide guidance on the care and maintenance of the wig. As a Hair Donation Specialist, stylists harvest ponytails from donors for our hair replacement systems.
We currently have 871 Certified Service Providers throughout the U.S. and Canada working with our recipients. Each of the Certified Service Providers has taken online training to be able to do so. In 2022, Wigs for Kids served 379 children; and in 2023, the number of children served was over 500! That is quite an impact!
Thanks to you, our dedicated stylists, recipients are receiving the care they need. Each stylist has at least two appointments with the child, donating between four to six hours of their time and expertise.
