Last summer, Lisa Nikitina interned at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she studied the complexities of cancer. The experience so moved her that after she donated her own hair, she felt inspired to play an even more active role in the cause.
She decided to bring her community together and organized a Cut-A-Thon in her neighborhood of Riverdale, in the Bronx. Stylists generously donated their time and talents to help bring her vision to life in an afternoon event at Eco Salon, where hair donors gave a part of themselves to help children living with hair loss.

At the end of the day 325” of hair was donated! Attendees enjoyed a festive atmosphere, celebrating the many hair donations. Lisa was able to garner the support of many in her community raising funds to support the production of a wig.

Lisa is close to her fundraising goal. Help bring her over the finish line by clicking the button below!
Thank you to Lisa, the hair donors, and many others that came out to make the Riverdale Cut-A-Thon a huge success!
Thank You Lisa and all participants!
