A Blessing a Child Needs

January 21, 2023

Behind every difficulty lies an opportunity to help others. This is what Chuck Bonacci learned during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result of the pandemic, Chuck was not able to visit the barber shop for a haircut. Instead of looking for another solution, he decided to use this opportunity to bless a child’s life with the gift of hair.

Chuck and his family are not new to hair donations. Many years ago, Chuck’s brother also donated to a hair donation program. When seeing the difficulties around the world during the pandemic, Chuck decided he could still be a blessing to a child’s life. Chuck found Wigs for Kids, and decided to donate to this organization. Chuck chose Wigs for Kids because they allow families to receive a wig without charge, and they put much time and effort to make each wig beautiful for a child.

In early 2019, Chuck started his hair growth. He described this as a change in his daily life, because he would have a haircut once a month. But this was a change that was worth it for the joy of a child. In 2021, Chuck finally reached the required hair length, and was ready to donate his hair. His hair stylist named Heidi from Evolutions Salon was able to cut his hair and ensured that it was the correct measurements to create a hairpiece for a child. At Wigs for Kids, we require the hairpiece to be 14 inches long. In addition to a hairpiece. Chuck is also raising money to the organization.

Outside of a salon, Chuck describes his life as blessed. He is involved in his community and teaches people how to ski in resorts. In addition, he enjoys volleyball and has a great job in a hospital in Cleveland. As Chuck is blessed in his life, he likes to bless others.

Behind any difficulty we face, there is still opportunity to be a blessing to others. Wigs for Kids would like to thank Chuck Bonacci for generously donating his hair and raising money to help children.
