Pedal Into Purpose This May with Pelotonia
Team Huntington Bank is hosting their second Pelotonia Kids Ride, building on the incredible success of their inaugural event in 2025. Last year’s event welcomed 295 young riders and raised more than $31,000 to support pediatric cancer research all driven by one shared passion: ending cancer.
Date: Saturday, May 16 Time: 9:30 AM Location: Huntington Bank, 7 Easton Oval, Columbus, Ohio
If you’re in the Columbus area, we invite you to venture out with your kids and ride for a cause: ending childhood cancer! Wigs For Kids is proud to participate in this event and will be on site providing information about our mission and the children we are honored to serve.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Christopher Kemper, Jill Wince, Kate Stephenson, Natalie Johns, and Sarah Young for leading this event, and to all the riders and sponsors for coming together in support. Your collective generosity pushes cancer research forward.

When a Teacher Steps Up, Students Rise
While raising money for her class trip to Washington, D.C., Danielle found a powerful way to turn a school fundraiser into something bigger than herself. Setting a bold goal that if she reached $5,000, she would shave her 14 inches of hair and donate it to Wigs For Kids.
This wasn’t her first act of service. Danielle had previously shaved her head in support of a student facing cancer several years ago. This time, she was surrounded by the support of the school, her cousin, Officer McKinley, who proudly stood beside her, as well as her stylist, Emily. Together, it was more than a haircut, it was service in action.
We are honored to have caring individuals like Mrs. Schafer share their hair to support our recipients like Kayleigh.

Recipient Kayleigh Shines at Prom
Kayleigh, an honor roll student who loves volleyball and spending time with friends, faced a big change in 2024 when she underwent brain surgery to remove a large tumor, leaving her without her long hair.
Through the Wigs For Kids Recipient Program, she received a hand-tied hairpiece made from donated hair at no cost to her family, helping her regain confidence and joy during a challenging time.
With the help of stylist Ginny Folden of Aspire Salon Suites, Kayleigh’s hairpiece was carefully measured, fitted, and styled. Ginny shared how happy Kayleigh was seeing her new hair for the first time. Her mother, Amberleigh, sent photos from Kayleigh’s prom, a stunning image of what a difference those generous donors make every day.
