Penn State THON weekend is quickly approaching – February 17-19. THON is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world. Students organize and participate in year-long fundraising activities for Four Diamonds at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital. Their goal is to enhance the lives of children and families impacted by childhood cancer through raising funds, awareness and providing support. THON weekend boasts a weekend long (February 17-19) Dance Marathon.
THON also hosts a Cut-a-Thon with all hair donated to Wigs for Kids. THON Special Events Hair Donation Captains worked diligently with Wigs for Kids, THON volunteers, and local salons and stylists to develop their first THON Hair Donation event of THON 2023. Together they selected 11 dedicated Penn State students to take part in gifting their locks to Wigs for Kids.
Organizers shared “THON hair donation is more than a tangible contribution to individuals affected by hair loss. It is an opportunity for Penn State students to stand in solidarity with individuals that have experienced loss in the fight against childhood cancer. THON hair donations provides a space in the THON community to provide emotional support through very personal generosity.”
Thank You for Making a Difference in the Lives of Children!
