Stylist Looks Forward to a New Journey

May 9, 2024

Wigs for Kids is pleased to welcome Gwendolyn Fontenot-Bell to the team – she has recently completed the training to become a Certified Service Provider so that she can work with recipients. Gwendolyn works at Salons On the Hill (Hurst, TX). She has been a stylist for 39 years specializing in hair loss and color.

Gwendolyn shared, “I am a 27-year breast cancer survivor; I want to be able to help children who are going through treatment for an illness and help them to feel and look like themselves.” As a Certified Service Provider, Gwendolyn will fit children for their wig, color match, style and provide guidance on the care of the wig. Certified Service Providers donate their expertise to help children in need.

When not at work, Gwendolyn enjoys reading, walking, and spending time with her grandchildren. “I enjoy children. This is a new journey for me, and I am ready to learn.”

Thanks to you, our dedicated stylists, recipients are receiving the care they need. Each stylist has at least two appointments with the child, donating between four to six hours of their time and expertise.
