Raising Awareness for Children With Hair Loss

On May 13, 2023, from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., the Local 1393 Motorcycle Club will roar into action in Brown County, Indiana. Each year, nearly 300 passionate bikers from across the U.S. raise awareness for children with hair loss by hosting this highly anticipated charity event. The ride and fundraiser centers around the theme ‘Kick Stand-Up.’

The Local 1393 Motorcycle Club recognizes the challenges faced by children who experience hair loss due to medical conditions. By organizing this event, they hope to shed light on the importance of supporting these young individuals, ensuring they feel accepted and loved in their communities.

Organizer Terry Gardner has been growing his hair for the past two years to donate to Wigs for Kids. He is encouraging club members to consider donating their hair and areis inviting members of the community to attend the Cut-A-Thon, which is the heart of the event.

The Cut-A-Thon is a unique opportunity for individuals to make a difference. In partnership with Wigs For Kids, donated hair will be collected and used to create wigs for children in need. Hairdressers and stylists will be on hand to provide professional ponytail cuts to those willing to contribute, ensuring that each donor’s generosity results in a meaningful transformation for a child facing hair loss.

In addition to the Cut-A-Thon, the charity event will also host exciting activities, including a prize raffle and live music.

The ride will end at about 4:30 p.m. at the Hard Truth Distillery.
