Layla Loves Herself Just The Way She Is

August 14, 2025

In November 2019, Layla began experiencing hair loss. By 2020, she was diagnosed with alopecia areata, an autoimmune condition that causes sudden hair loss. At just three years old when the symptoms began, Layla struggled to understand why she didn’t have hair like the other children around her. It was a confusing and emotional time filled with questions and challenges.

Over time, Layla has grown to embrace her appearance and love herself just as she is. A big part of that journey has been finding support through Baldtourage, a virtual community for girls with alopecia. Meeting with others who share similar experiences has helped her realize she is not alone—and that true beauty comes from within.
