Layla is a vibrant and courageous 8-year-old who brings joy and positivity to everyone around her. She loves riding her bike, spending time with her family and friends, and has a passion for singing, dancing, and fashion. Layla also enjoys experimenting with makeup—not because she feels she needs it to be beautiful, but because it makes her feel “fancy.” Her dream is to become a makeup artist so she can help other girls who look like her feel that same sense of confidence and joy.
In November 2019, Layla began experiencing hair loss. By 2020, she was diagnosed with alopecia areata, an autoimmune condition that causes sudden hair loss. At just three years old when the symptoms began, Layla struggled to understand why she didn’t have hair like the other children around her. It was a confusing and emotional time filled with questions and challenges.
Over time, Layla has grown to embrace her appearance and love herself just as she is. A big part of that journey has been finding support through Baldtourage, a virtual community for girls with alopecia. Meeting with others who share similar experiences has helped her realize she is not alone—and that true beauty comes from within.

Layla and her family are incredibly grateful to Wigs For Kids for helping provide her with a high-quality wig that has made a tremendous impact on her confidence and self-expression. They also extend their heartfelt thanks to the generous donors who selflessly give their hair to make these wigs possible. Your kindness and compassion are making a real difference in the lives of children like Layla.
