How Alopecia and Wigs for Kids Helped Emily Find Her True Self

September 28, 2017

Welcome to our Best of 2017: Wigs For Kids series! Over the next few weeks, we’re going to be looking back at some of your favorite posts and sharing some of the transformations we’re watched this year!

Emily’s story is so special. It’s amazing how much her journey with Wigs For Kids has boosted her self-confidence and helped her to see what life is truly about. We have so many children waiting for their own transformation in 2018–Help us make these transformations happen by supporting Wigs For Kids!

When diagnosed in third grade with Alopecia, Emily was scared and didn’t know what she was up against. After researching and finding Wigs for Kids, her life has changed! While she admits there are occasional hard days, she wouldn’t go back and change her diagnosis. With the support and encouragement from her family, her friends, and Wigs for Kids, she has taken this opportunity to discover who she truly is and what life is truly about.

From homecomings to vacations, Wigs for Kids has played a role in re-establishing her confidence, and she now helps spread the word to others that there are solutions available to those in need. Listen as Emily discusses what Alopecia has taught her about herself.
