Empowering Eleni: Regaining Confidence With A New Hairpiece & Community Support

July 24, 2024

At just 18 months old, Eleni faced Alopecia Totalis, causing her to lose all of her hair- a diagnosis her parents found difficult as they came to terms with its uncontrollable nature. Eleni soon noticed the curious gazes and questions from strangers but her parents assured her that children were just curious and adults were empathetic to her hair loss.

Supported by understanding friends and classmates, fostered by her parents’ proactive approach, Eleni, now eight, enjoys reading, writing, kickball, iPad games, and swimming. “Eleni was over the moon when she received her wig. The color and length were everything she dreamed of,” shared her mom, Jari Lynn. Receiving her dream wig brought immense joy, boosting her confidence and reducing unwanted attention in public.

Our daughter’s shrieks of joy when she unboxed her hairpiece will forever remain in our memories. Wigs for Kids has gifted our daughter a boost in self-confidence. We love our daughter just the way she is, but we also love the fact that she has an option to wear a hairpiece whenever she wants to,” — Eleni’s Mother, Jari Lynn

Wigs for Kids, supported by dedicated providers like Roszetta Pringle of Still You Hair Solutions, offers hope to children like Eleni.
