Wigs For Kids is a non-profit organization providing hairpieces to children up to 18 years of age who are experiencing hair loss due to medical reasons. These are provided free of charge to eligible recipients because we believe all kids deserve the opportunity to look themselves and live their lives.
Our hairpieces, or “hair replacement systems,” are full cap (whole head) cranial prostheses made entirely from donated, hand-tied, human hair. Our hairpieces are designed for complete hair loss. If your child is experiencing partial hair loss, please contact us prior to submitting your application.
Wigs For Kids hairpieces are created using natural human hair from our generous ponytail donors. Wigs For Kids offers hairpieces in 12” and 14” lengths, in a range of organic colors. Highlights, lowlights, ombres, and ‘fashion’ hair colors are not available.
No, we never charge for our hair replacement systems. The process for creating these hairpieces takes time, and the cost of producing each human hair wig runs in excess of $1,800. Thanks in large part to generous donors, we are able to offer our hairpieces free of charge to eligible recipients because we believe all kids deserve the ability to look themselves and live their lives.
Wigs For Kids is a private, non-profit organization. We receive no government funding for our operations and rely solely on support from generous companies, groups, and individuals. This funding helps cover processing and operational expenses.
