Join Kathy Romano, The Kathy Romano Show, and B101 Philly for the 17th Annual Kathy’s Clips Benefiting Wigs For Kids!
This beloved annual Cut-A-Thon brings together generous hair donors, talented stylists, and community supporters to help children experiencing hair loss due to medical conditions. The event will feature a live broadcast of The Kathy Romano Show from TruBeauty Concepts, where participants can donate their hair and receive a fresh new haircut from professional stylists from Gravity Hair Salon and VIBE Salon.

If you’ve been thinking about cutting your hair, this is your chance to make a lasting impact while receiving a complimentary haircut from some of the area’s top stylists. With only 48 appointment slots available, reserve your spot early and be part of the 17th Annual Kathy’s Clips. Gift bags, including hair products and a special Kathy Romano shirt, will be provided to all hair donors at the event.
There are 4 appointment times to choose from between 6am and 9am, based on availability.
The deadline to make an appointment is Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at 5pm.
Kathy’s Clips began in 2008 when Kathy Romano was ready for a major cut but wanted her hair to have a second life beyond the salon floor. She invited Joe Kaub, owner of Gravity Hair Salon in Ambler, PA to cut her hair live on air. Inspired by her generosity, listeners joined the cause, creating a tradition that has grown into one of the region’s most meaningful hair donation and fundraising events for Wigs For Kids.
Over the past 17 years, hundreds of ponytails have been donated, along with financial gifts. We are so grateful for Kathy and her team, along with the salons, stylists and supporters who have joined this event over the years.
Wigs For Kids provides high-quality hair replacement systems at no cost to eligible children experiencing hair loss. Because every hairpiece is made-to-order and can cost more than $2,600 to produce, community support and hair donations are essential to helping children regain confidence, self-esteem, and a sense of normalcy during difficult medical journeys.
Supporters are also encouraged to make a monetary contribution during the event. Donations will be accepted in person at the event or can be made online. Each donation helps Wigs For Kids continue providing hair replacement systems free of charge to children and families in need.
