Cain is 7 years old with two older siblings and a deep interest in science and space. He loves playing card games and chess and enjoys swimming. He is also battling brain cancer and lost his hair due to proton radiation therapy.
Cain shared that losing his hair hasn’t been too bad, but he was getting sick of wearing hats in public all the time. Cain’s family applied to the Wigs For Kids for a special handcrafted hairpiece, provided at no cost to the family, thanks to the generosity of our hair and financial donors.
Recently, Cain and his family met with stylist Taneasha Hines of PHD Hair Solutions for two appointments. In the first appointment, Taneasha and the family worked together on measurements, selecting the perfect cap size and color for Cain’s hairpiece. In the second appointment, Taneasha styled the hairpiece and showed how to best apply it, and how to care for it going forward. All along the way, Taneasha provided care and comfort to a family with a little extra on their plate.
Cain’s mother shared, “We are beyond grateful to PHD Hair Solutions for their kindness, generosity, and incredible support during a difficult time. My son is currently battling brain cancer and lost his hair due to proton radiation therapy. PHD Hair Solutions volunteered their time and expertise to measure and style his wig completely for free through the Wigs For Kids program.
“Their compassion and professionalism meant so much to us. They treated my son with such warmth and care, helping him feel confident and comfortable. This isn’t just a business—they truly care about helping families like ours. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making a difference.”
Stylist Taneasha was also moved by the experience, sharing, “Moments like this remind me why I do what I do. His strength, his smile, and his spirit were unforgettable.
