It’s always uplifting when someone close to you inspires you to do something that makes a difference. Meet Danielle Dietz, who donated four ponytails to Wigs For Kids in 2019. She’s donated a few times because she loves how it feels to help someone she doesn’t know, and she has always hoped that her donations helped other children feel better about themselves.
Following in his wife’s footsteps, Danielle’s husband, John Dietz, decided he wanted to make that same difference and donated 13+” of hair to Wigs For Kids. John’s a high school social studies teacher residing in North Carolina and loves teaching and the students in his class. As a teacher, he knows how self-conscious kids can be regarding their looks and locks.
John has a giving nature and wants to help others in any way he can, especially since he’s a kidney transplant recipient. When asked if Danielle inspired her husband to donate his hair, she shared, “Maybe he followed my example. But I think he really wanted to help kids boost their self-esteem. As a high school teacher, he knows how being self-conscious can impact kids.”
We thank Danielle and John Dietz both so much for helping the children we serve! We’re so grateful for donors like them! Interested in learning how you can make an impact? Learn more about donating to Wigs For Kids here.
