We’re thrilled to welcome thirteen-year-old Evan to the Wigs For Kids family, who has been growing out his hair since 2019! Evan has a disorder that causes tumors, and fortunately, his tumors haven’t required any treatment, but he knows how it feels to deal with health issues. During his hospital stay, Evan saw countless children undergoing chemotherapy and losing their hair. Though they couldn’t control their health or hair loss, he knew he could control growing his out for them.
He felt for the recipients of Wigs For Kids so much, that he wanted to commit to growing out his hair for them. He shared with our team that he endured a pretty awkward stage while growing his hair out, but he never complained. People even referred to him as a “girl,” but he knew he had a mission to complete.
This year, Evan was ready to finally donate his hair after over two years of dedication. His mom couldn’t be more proud of his perseverance, and we share in her pride!
Evan is truly the paradigm of dedication, perseverance, and determination. Because of his enormous heart, a child will have the gift of confidence. Wigs For Kids is so grateful for our donors with big hearts that desire to help the children we serve.
