Wigs For Kids, the first and oldest hair donation nonprofit serving children experiencing medical-related hair loss in the United States, has launched its Double Your Impact campaign that will run through Aug. 2020.
This campaign aims to raise awareness and financial donations of $25,000 while uniting its community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Wigs For Kids continually sees an incredible need for children suffering from hair loss as a result of chemotherapy, radiation, Alopecia, or other medical conditions. From 2016-2019, Wigs For Kids saw a growth of hair piece applications at more than 77 percent.
The Wigs For Kids community of Certified Service Providers and Hair Donation Specialists, financial and hair donors, as well as hairpiece recipients are banning together to raise awareness and impact of this campaign. Thanks to anonymous supporters, Discount Drug Mart and Senders Pediatrics, the nonprofit is offering a dollar-for-dollar match (up to $1,800).
“Just as many others, Wigs For Kids has been greatly impacted by the COVID-19,” states Jeffrey Paul, Founder of Wigs For Kids. “But as always, our team is proud to serve communities across the country, and shed positive light on the continual support of donors. The Double Your Impact campaign will further help in keeping the organization thriving and impacting the lives of children in need.”
The fundraising of this campaign will go to support the daily operations of Wigs For Kids and help to fund hairpieces for children in need. At Wigs For Kids, a child and their family will never pay for the hand-tied hairpieces, a value of more than $1,800– like previous recipient, Taylor.
