Service Provider partner Shares Chloe-Joy’s  Experience

Our Wigs For Kids (WFK) team and Service Provider salons receive daily questions about the process of a child receiving a hand-tied, custom hairpiece. Do recipients look through magazines and submit a cut they want? Do they tell you where they want their hair parted? Or, does each recipient get the same exact style of hair system? These are all great questions! It’s so important to us that each recipient is able to wear a hairpiece that fits their head and style!

We take great pride in providing the highest quality hairpieces, and each completed  piece passes through a detailed quality and assurance check prior to being mailed out. It is then sent to the recipient’s home uncut and unstyled. Families work directly with our Service Provider salon partners (who are trained by our partners at Hair Loss University) to learn how to properly wash, care for, and maintain the longevity of the hairpiece. Then, our salon partners help to cut and style the hair, helping children to look and feel like themselves again.

Today, we are proud to be featuring one of our Service Provider partners, Cosmetology Specialty Services (CSS) in Woodbridge, Virginia. Monica Dickenson, owner of CSS, has worked with WFK for two and a half years. She found out about the organization when she attended hair replacement training with Jeffrey Paul, Founder of WFK. We loved working with Monica when she took part in our “Super HAIRos” event in 2019 with one of our partners, Marvel Universe Live!

Recently, Monica had a special guest, WFK recipient Chloe-Joy, visit her at CSS. Monica told our team that Chloe-Joy started out sitting in her chair pretty quiet.

“The look on her face, the light she had when her custom hairpiece was placed on her head– her smiles radiated throughout the whole room,” shared Monica. “This is one of the best parts of my work with WFK. Watching recipients go from apprehensive when they first arrive to pure excitement when they look in the mirror and see their new reflection.”

Thank you, Monica! We are so thankful for our incredible partners like you. You can find out more about Monica and Cosmetology Specialty Services at cosmetologyspecialtyservices.com.
