Because of your financial and hair donations, Wigs For Kids can continue to serve children across the country facing medical related hair loss. In this blog, we’re thrilled to highlight three incredible donors who hosted fundraisers and donated their hair.
Please meet Andrew, Lava and Dailia.
Lava is a frequent donor of Wigs For Kids and has donated his own hair multiple times—but was ready to make an even bigger impact!
As a content creator, he wanted to spread awareness on how others can help the cause by hosting a live-stream charity fundraiser event showcasing the cutting and donation of his hair. Thanks to Lava’s followers and viewers, the live-stream event raised over $1,500 for Wigs For Kids!
Lava shows how to utilize his talent and network to give back to the community. We’re thrilled to thank him for gifting his hair and raising money to support our mission and the children we serve.
Andrew’s father passed away from cancer, and he wanted to honor him in a unique and memorable way—a way that benefited others. He envisioned something that improved the quality of one’s life experiencing hair loss.
Andrew decided to grow his hair out and donate it and found Wigs For Kids. In addition, he hosted a peer-to-peer fundraiser and raised $2,800 along with his generous gift of hair. Andrew truly turned his grief into giving, and we’re so thankful for donors like Andrew, who strive to help others.
Dalia’s good friend was diagnosed with Leukemia, and Dalia wanted to do something to help and make a difference. She decided to raise money for her friend’s cause while promoting reading and education.
Dalia asked her family and friends to make pledges for the number of books she read, and by the end, she completed 19 chapter books.
Thanks to her endeavors, support from parents, and other individuals who contributed to the Read-a-thon, Dalia exceeded her goal of $1,800. In total, the fundraiser reached $2,288!
We’re grateful for Dalia’s compassion and empathy, and her family and loved ones who helped make a great impact on the lives of others.
