What Is Sponsor A Child?
Remember when we were kids? It was a wonderful, but often trying time. The smallest occurrence can derail a child’s self-esteem. As adults, skin thickened by life experience enables us to deal with criticism of our flaws. Most children haven’t yet cultivated that inner strength. Hair is not just attached to their follicles – it is vitally connected to their well-being.

Through Sponsor A Child, you can help children in need of Hair Replacement. The child you sponsor will receive a Wigs For Kids Hair Replacement System designed specifically for them at no cost. Your sponsorship will cover their Hair Replacement System as well as products, services, and support. Your generous compassion and donation will allow a child to face the mirror – and life – head-on.

Children helped through Sponsor A Child may all be treated for different periods of time, depending on each child’s case and special needs. Some with autoimmune diseases, such as Alopecia, are treated by Wigs for Kids until they reach age 18, while other children with temporary hair loss due to chemotherapy or radiation therapy may only need treatment for a couple of years.

To thank you for your sponsorship, you will receive Wigs for Kids Newsletters which chronicle the heartwarming progress of children whose lives have transformed through the Sponsor A Child Program – and your help.

ANNIE’s Story (AGE: 16 CAUSE: Alopecia)

"I’ve been losing hair since I was seven, so I’ve spent more than half my life trying to cover the problem or get rid of it. It was really hard – especially going to school – to be different and not be able to just be myself. I had many different treatments, but they didn’t work well enough.

"In fourth grade, I went to Wigs for Kids and got my first Hair Replacement. I could dance, play volleyball, waterski and just walk around school without worrying about my hair.

"Sponsor A Child made it possible for me to do all this - the things that make me who I am.

"When Jeffrey Paul asked me to be a spokesperson, I was nervous because I never wanted to talk about it. But I realized that talking about it makes me feel better. I also wanted people to really hear what kids with hair loss go through, because it’s a problem that’s so hard to get people to understand.

THANK YOU for supporting Sponsor A Child. I know all the kids being helped by this amazing program would thank you too if they could."
