How to Apply for Assistance from Wigs

Wigs for Kids provides hair replacement systems to children under the age of 18 who have lost their hair as a result of medical treatments, health conditions, or burn accidents. Children must come from families that cannot otherwise pay for a hair system. They must be referred by a medical professional.

If there is no Wigs for Kids affiliate near you, send your application to the Wigs for Kids headquarters in Rocky River, Ohio.

After your application has been accepted, you and your child will need to make two visits to the Rocky River center, one for preliminary consultation and measurement and one for the final cutting and fitting of the hair system. (Once a hair system is ordered, delivery time can take from 4 to 10 weeks.)

If you and your child are unable to travel, you will need to seek a local hair replacement center or hair salon willing to work with Wigs for Kids. In exchange for their time and services, Wigs for Kids will provide the center or salon with the necessary tools, guidelines, and techniques to properly fit, style, and maintain the hair system.
